Election Council Hearing Findings - April 19, 2017

 Important Dates

  • Student Government Inauguration:
    • Wednesday, May 3, 9:00 a.m. - 9:20 a.m., Student Union Coville Conference Room (just prior to the Student Government Senate Meeting)
  • Introduction of newly elected ASI officers at the ASI Board Meeting:
    • Thursday, May 4, at 7:40 a.m., Student Union Coville Conference Room
  • Regular Meeting Times:

    • Student Government Senate Meetings:
      • Wednesdays during the academic year, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., Student Union Coville Conference Room
    • ASI Board Meetings:
      • First Thursday of every month during academic year, 7:40 - 9:00 a.m., Student Union Coville Conference Room

How to vote

An electronic ballot will be sent to CI students' dolphin email account on April 18, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. The ballot will close at 5:00 p.m. on April 20, 2017.

Positions

NOTE:

Associated Students Inc.- Board Member 1 year term (students may vote for up to two candidates)

ASI on the CI campus is governed by the ASI Board of Directors which consists of students, administrators, staff, faculty, and a community member. The ASI Board makes decisions pertaining to ASI and the Student Union; such decisions include: oversight and conception of all governing documents, ASI and the Student Union budget expenditures, and the budget allocations for registered student organizations and co-curricular initiatives. 

Time Commitment:

June 1, 2017 - May 31, 2018. ASI student board members can expect to commit to a minimum of one Board meeting per month during the school year. Additionally, the time commitment for Board committee work varies and can range from one to four hours per week, depending on the committee and the time in the semester.

Student Government (SG)- President and Vice President (students may vote for up to one team)

The Student Government President and Vice President represent and advocate on behalf of Student Government and the CI student body to all persons and organizations within and outside the campus community.

TIME COMMITMENT:

June 1, 2016 - May 31, 2017.The Student Government President and Vice President positions are compensated educational leadership opportunities in which students receive a bi-weekly, flat rate payment for the assignment. The work of these appointments is estimated to be approximately 20 hours per week per position.

Student Government- Senators (students may vote for up to nine Senators)

The Student Government Senators serve as the legislative governing body of Student Government and take official stances on significant issues that affect the student body, be them campus-based, CSU system-wide, or legislative.

TIME COMMITMENT:

June 1, 2016 - May 31, 2017. Student Government senators can expect to commit to a minimum of 5 hours of work per week in this appointment.
