2007-2008 Candidate Statement - Michael Williams Jr.

Greetings Students!!! My name is Michael Williams Jr. I am running for your President of ASI Student Government for the 2007-2008 school year. I have two years of experience within the ASI Student Government organization and I am currently serving all students as one of the ASI Student Government Senators where I have consistently stood up in the best interest of the students of CSUCI. I have many goals that I want to accomplish within ASI Student Government for the upcoming school year.

Goals:

• To have ASI Student Government Engaging with the students next school year by putting together a campaign to give the students the opportunity to speak their minds and voice their concerns about our campus on various occasions.
• To have ASI Student Government Advocating on behalf of all students by taking student concerns to the right people and using the committee seats that we hold to influence change here at CSUCI.
• Educating the students of CSUCI by making them aware of the policies that affect them and what is being done by ASI Student Government on their behalf by utilizing such tools as a new website, new posting locations around campus, and our ASI Student Government newsletter.
• To inform students of what ASI Student Government is, what we do for the students, and how students benefit from having an organization that stands up for their best interest and fights on their behalf on both the campus and statewide levels. I promise to research such issues as athletics, textbook prices, parking availability, and student fees to see how these issues are affecting the students of CSUCI and what ASI Student Government can do to push for change.
• To help foster and create a real college atmosphere where students can enjoy being on our campus and would rather be here at CSUCI than anywhere else.

I have many goals that I have set for the 2007-2008 school year that will benefit the students here at CSUCI and I am looking for any suggestions that the students have. In order to make these goals a reality I need your support and your vote. Vote Michael Williams for President of ASI Student Government.
