What are the rules about mask-wearing, eating, and having beverages in the Student Union for all patrons?

  • All individuals MUST wear face masks while in the Student Union building. That includes: the Student Union Dining Room, all First Floor Lounges, the Game Room, all Meeting Rooms, all Bathrooms, all Second Floor Lounges, and all building offices and office suites. Masks are to be worn over the nose and mouth at all times throughout the facilities — even when studying alone in Lounges and Meeting Rooms.

  • No food or eating is allowed inside the building, with the exception of the Student Union Dining Room. Along with the Student Union Dining Room, eating is permitted in the Student Union Courtyard or other seating areas outside the Student Union.

  • Beverages are permitted indoors, but masks must be immediately replaced over the nose and mouth in between sips.

  • Sanitization Stations with cleaning supplies will be provided throughout the building for patrons who wish to sanitize shared surfaces before and/or after use.

  • To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, do not enter the Student Union if you have any of the symptoms outlined by the Center For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This includes fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

  • Please complete the COVID-19 Self Symptom Check prior to coming to campus.

Student Union Reservations & Resources:

  • Student Union meeting room reservations and event resource equipment reservations are currently not available through September 5, 2021 (the first two weeks of the fall semester).

  • Student Union computer stations will be available. Sanitization Stations with cleaning supplies will be provided for patrons who wish to sanitize shared surfaces before and/or after use.

  • Shared equipment and resources that are checked out at the Student Union Information Desk must be sanitized when returned by the user. Sanitizing and cleaning supplies are provided at the Information Desk for this purpose.

  • A modified offering of shared gaming and other facility equipment will be available for checkout. For specific inquiries, please feel free to contact the Student Union Information Desk at: 805-437-2622.

  • Student Union massage chairs and napping pod are currently not available for use.
