ASI STUDENT GOVERNMENT SENATOR CANDIDATE:
SENATOR CANDIDATE:ELLIANA ESCALERA
Major: Early Childhood Studies
Minor: Education | Class Standing in Fall 2025:Sophomore
CANDIDATE STATEMENT:
Greetings Members of Channel Islands! I'm excited to announce that I'm running for the school Senate for the 2025-2026 school year. I’m a Freshman majoring in Early Childhood studies and minoring in Education. One day I hope to complete my Master's in any field in Education and become an Academic Advisor / Guidance Counselor for high school students. I believe that fostering a positive mindset towards education is a strong capability to have. Here at CI, I've become involved throughout campus, and even outside of school. Some examples are being in the Red Cross club, being a member of Alpha Delta Psi, and a community member of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. One of the main things I want to achieve and accomplish here at CI is to make everything accessible to students with disabilities. As a student with a disability, it gets very tiring to simply wake up in the morning. I can understand the struggle that some people will never understand.
